We've had special events in Winter Wonderlands, Year of the Rabbit, and Battle For Olympus, and Overwatch 2 Season 2 is plodding along nicely. Several weeks into Season 2, Overwatch 2's seasonal improvements are well underway. Overwatch 2, the adored hero-shooter from Blizz ard Entertainment, puts a lot of emphasis on its history and world-building despite presently only being a multiplayer game without a story campaign. Overwatch 2 Season 3 release date is coming closer Overwatch 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.Overwatch 2 Season 3 release date has finally been announced along with a few other details on the map, heroes, and more. Whether it's Blizzard's intention to confuse the matter is another matter entirely. Regardless of what it planned, the gold coin logo is now misleading for some players. That could be why the coins are gold instead of silver. It's possible that Blizzard initially planned to include Overwatch Coins in the Overwatch 2 Season 3 Battle Pass. The new Season 3 Battle Pass will confuse the issue that much more. It's common for free-to-play battle passes to include enough premium currency to purchase the next battle pass. What makes the situation all the more eyebrow-raising is that Overwatch 2 players have requested that Blizzard put Overwatch Coins in the Battle Pass since the game launched. Legacy Credits can't be used to purchase Blizzard's new, premium skins. ![]() By displaying the Legacy Credits as gold, Overwatch 2 players could assume they're earning Overwatch Coins. The accusation then is that Blizzard is intentionally misrepresenting what the Battle Pass rewards, tricking players into spending $10 for the Overwatch 2 Battle Pass under the guise of earning premium currency. Legacy Credits are shown to be silver everywhere else in Overwatch 2 other than in the Battle Pass. However, gold is the color of Overwatch 2's premium Overwatch Coins. Legacy Credits as shown in the Battle Pass are shown to be gold. One post on Reddit made by Artiller圜amel called attention to this misleading representation. Where Overwatch 2 players are taking issue, as seen on Reddit and other social media outlets, is how it's representing the Legecy Credits in the Battle Pass. Legacy Credits are a currency that's carried over from the original Overwatch that can be used to unlock old skins and other cosmetics. The change drawing substantial scrutiny is Blizzard's decision to include Legacy Credits as a reward in Overwatch 2 Season 3's Battle Pass. Yet Blizzard's response, an endeavor to provide more meaningful rewards in Season 3's Battle Pass, is leading to complications that the Overwatch 2 developer may or may not have wanted. It's no secret that Overwatch 2's shift to a free-to-play system has led to controversial monetization systems in the online multiplayer shooter. Overwatch 2 players are raising concerns over rewards in the latest Battle Pass, with some even alleging that Blizzard is being intentionally misleading.
